OUR COMPANY

US Concrete, it's operating companies and our people are concerned about the environment we all share. Controlling carbon dioxide emissions and conserving energy is everyone's job. In fact, our proprietary environmental program, EF Technology, was developed through an initiative by US Concrete employees that incorporates in-the-field best practices with new concrete technology to produce products that save energy and improve performance.
The engineering of new concrete mixtures with waste products like fly ash and slag can replace up to 50% of the Portland Cement, a known contributing factor in the production of greenhouse gases. The resulting mixture produces better, stronger concrete that benefits both the natural and business environments. Plus, the use of US Concrete’s EF Technology assists architects and engineers in qualifying for the United States Green Building Council’s (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) credits for the structures they design. US Concrete EF Technology may contribute to LEED credits* through:
- the reduction of heat islands
- building reuse
- the use of recycled content materials
- the use of local/regional materials
- the use of pervious concrete
US Concrete has taken the initiative in environmental issues, not because our customers demand it, but because it is the right thing to do for our company, our employees and everyone who shares this planet we call home.
* Check with the United States Green Building Council for specific credits as applicable to specific structures.
